Abia State University, Uturu, as a foremost state University in Nigeria founded in 1981, has maintained its leadership within and beyond the Eastern heartlands of Nigeria.

the University’s academic plan is structured to act as the backbone in the realization of the entrepreneurship drive of the people; hence, the University runs a comprehensive entrepreneurship / skill acquisition programme as to actualize the University’s slogan of One Graduate-Two Skills.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions below:
1.) Director Of Works & Services
Location: Uturu, Abia
Person & Responsibility
The Director of Works & Services is the Head of the Works & Services Department of the University, responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the development and maintenance of the infrastructure, equipment and sundry utilities of the University.
Requirements
The Candidate must possess the following qualifications:
A Degree / HND qualification in Engineering (Civil, Electrical or Mechanical) and be a registered member of the following professional bodies:
Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN),
Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
A higher Degree in Engineering and a Fellowship of any of the above listed professional bodies will be an advantage.
The candidate should be ICT literate and not more than sixty (60) years of age.
Experience:
The candidate must have at least ten (10) years post-qualification experience.
Salary / Conditions of Service
The salary and conditions of service shall be as obtainable in Nigerian University system.
The appointment will be for one term of five (5) years only.

2.) University Librarian
Location: Abia
Person & Responsibility
The University Librarian is a Principal Officer of the University, responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and management of the University Library and the coordination of Library services in the University
Requirements
The Candidate must possess the following qualifications:
A good Honours Degree in Library and Information Science or related field from recognized University.
A higher Degree and membership of recognized professional bodies will be an added advantage.
Should not be more than sixty (60) years of age.
Experience:
The candidate must have at least ten (10) years post-qualification academic and professional experience beginning from year of graduation.
Salary / Conditions of Service
The salary and conditions of service are as obtainable in the Nigerian University system.
The appointment will be for one term of five (5) years only.

3.) Director of Physical Planning
Location: Abia
Person & Responsibility
The Director, Physical Planning is the head of the Physical Planning Unit of the University, responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the coordination and supervision of the physical infrastructural development of the University, ensuring that all such development projects conform strictly with the specifications of the institutions master plan.
Requirements
The Candidate must possess the following qualifications:
A good Honours Degree / HND in Architecture / Engineering (Civil, Electrical or Mechanical)
Must be a registered and current member of relevant professional bodies:
Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA)
Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and or
Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN)
Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
A higher Degree in Engineering and a Fellowship of any of the above listed professional bodies will be an added advantage.
The candidate should be ICT literate and not more than sixty (60) years.
Experience:
Candidate must have at least ten (10) years post graduation experience.
