A PUNCH report from May 18, 2026, states that Michael Oyedokun, one of the educators abducted from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele in Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State, has been decapitated.

A clip, reportedly released by the abductors on Sunday, exhibited Oyedokun’s execution after he was restrained and coerced into speaking. The footage, which has gone viral, has sparked fresh anxiety regarding the safety of the other hostages, raising alarms among locals and officials.

This heartbreaking news has left the community in grief, with residents urging security forces and the Oyo State Government to ramp up their rescue missions.

In reply to these events, Dr. Suleimon Olanrewaju, the Special Adviser on Media to Governor Seyi Makinde, verified the death of the educator. He also promised the public that the government is considering both physical and non-physical methods for the rescue of the other captives.

He shared that around six individuals linked to the kidnapping have been apprehended and extended sympathy to the families of law enforcement members who perished during the rescue attempt.
