“Women Should Not Preach In Church’ — The Bible Verses Sparking Heated Arguments Among Christians

A major debate is currently dividing many Christians online after some believers insisted that women should not preach or lead churches, while others strongly disagreed and called the teaching outdated.

The controversy started after several Bible verses resurfaced on social media, especially 1 Timothy 2:12, where Apostle Paul said:
“I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.”

Another verse often mentioned is 1 Corinthians 14:34:
“Women should remain silent in the churches.”

These scriptures have caused serious arguments among Christians worldwide, with many asking whether women pastors and female church leaders are truly going against the Bible or whether the verses were only meant for a specific time and culture.

Supporters of female pastors argue that God has used women greatly throughout the Bible. They point to Deborah, who led Israel as a judge, Esther who saved her people, and Priscilla, who helped teach the gospel.

Others also mention Galatians 3:28, which says:
“There is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

According to some Bible teachers, the verses restricting women were directed at disorderly situations in certain churches during that period and should not be interpreted as a permanent ban on women preaching.

However, many conservative Christians disagree strongly. They believe the Bible’s instructions are clear and should not be changed to fit modern society.

Some pastors have even warned that churches are abandoning biblical standards because they want to please the world instead of following scripture exactly as written.

The debate has now spread heavily across social media, with thousands of Christians dropping conflicting opinions in comment sections.

While some say “God can use anybody regardless of gender,” others insist that church leadership roles were specifically designed for men.

The discussion has become one of the most controversial topics among believers in recent times, with no sign of the arguments ending anytime soon.

What do you think — Should women preach and lead churches, or should churches strictly follow the Apostle Paul’s instructions?
