The Anambra State Government has confirmed the arrest of Pastor Harrison Charles Anazodo, the founder of Day Spring Assembly in Awada, Onitsha, following multiple allegations made against him in videos that recently went viral online.
According to state officials, the cleric was apprehended by operatives of Agunechemba and is currently being investigated by the police in collaboration with the state government. The allegations against him include interfering in marriages, taking married women from their husbands, and engaging in other questionable activities involving members of his church.
Some men who identified themselves as members of the church also accused the pastor of promoting wife-swapping among congregants. In addition, a woman featured in one of the viral videos alleged that he had married numerous women and manipulated followers through deceptive practices.
Authorities further disclosed that 11 babies were found in the pastor’s residence during his arrest. He reportedly claimed that all the children were his and were born by 11 of his wives.
He also allegedly told investigators that he could not state the exact number of wives he has married or the total number of children he has fathered.
The state government has urged members of the public with useful information regarding the case to come forward as investigations continue.
