Fresh emotions have emerged from the funeral activities of late Nollywood star Alexx Ekubo after his longtime bodyguard, Miracle, shared a heartbreaking tribute during the actor’s wake-keep ceremony in Arochukwu, Abia State.

Bodyguard Recalls Painful Final Moment

Speaking before mourners, Miracle revealed that one of the most difficult moments following the actor’s death was carrying out a routine duty he had performed for years.

According to him, he instinctively went to Alexx Ekubo’s room expecting things to continue as normal.

Miracle’s Emotional Quote

“Doc, I opened your door as I always do, expecting you to step out. I stood there hoping and praying that this wasn’t real, but you didn’t step out.”

The statement reportedly left many mourners emotional as it highlighted the reality of losing someone who had become part of his daily life.

More Than an Employer

Miracle explained that Alexx Ekubo was more than just a boss.

According to him, the late actor served as a mentor, guide, and father figure whose influence shaped both his professional and personal life.

He disclosed that many of the values he lives by today were learned through his relationship with the actor.

The bodyguard noted that even after the actor’s passing, he found himself unconsciously wanting to continue his usual duties.

He described every familiar routine as a painful reminder that his mentor was gone.

According to the report, Alexx Ekubo died in May after battling complications related to kidney cancer.

The funeral events also generated discussions after media personality Daddy Freeze criticised part of the service of songs programme.

According to him, gospel singer Mercy Chinwo turned the event into a concert rather than a solemn memorial service.
