Jennifer, Wife of Late Actor Junior Pope, Shares Emotional Memories on Second Anniversary of His Passing

April 10, 2026 marks two years since the tragic passing of Nollywood actor Junior Pope Odonwodo, who lost his life in a boat accident on April 10, 2024.

The actor died after a fatal incident on the Anam River in Anambra State while returning from a movie set. Reports later revealed that the accident was linked to human error, including the absence of proper safety measures such as life jackets.

To honor his memory, his wife, Jennifer, took to Instagram to reflect on the painful moment she received the heartbreaking news and to offer prayers for his peaceful rest.

She recalled that the devastating call came in the afternoon while she was preparing for a photoshoot. At first, she struggled to believe what she was hearing, hoping it was some kind of mistake or prank. However, her fears deepened as she was taken to the scene of the accident, where a large crowd had already gathered.

Jennifer described the moment she saw her husband’s lifeless body being transported in a vehicle, still dressed in the same outfit he had worn when he left home earlier that morning. Overwhelmed with shock, she cried out in disbelief, a moment she says still echoes in her memory.

She also revealed that the emotional toll affected her physically, as doctors had to attend to her immediately after discovering her blood pressure had risen dangerously high.

According to her, she initially found it difficult to accept the reality of his death. She held on to hope, even imagining he would return, especially after recalling simple conversations they had just hours before the tragedy—like his request to save some food for him later that evening.

It wasn’t until she saw his casket the following day that the painful truth fully set in. The sound of ceremonial gunshots and the sight of his body being carried in left her completely shaken.

Despite the grief, Jennifer expressed strength and faith, stating that she and their children have continued to rely on God through the difficult journey. She shared that life has not been easy since his passing, but they are doing their best to move forward while keeping his memory alive.

She ended her tribute with heartfelt words, saying they deeply miss him and continue to pray for his peaceful rest, believing he is watching over them.
