Charly Boy has shared details of his role in the 2004 dispute involving Nigerian musician Eedris Abdulkareem and American rap star 50 Cent at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

During an interview on Echoo Room, Charly Boy said Abdulkareem contacted him and alleged that he was being threatened by members of 50 Cent’s entourage.

He recalled receiving the call while in Ikeja and immediately heading to the airport after mobilising a large number of okada riders.

According to Charly Boy, the presence of the riders significantly changed the atmosphere at the airport and heightened tensions between both groups.

He stated that he stepped in to support Abdulkareem because he believed the Nigerian artiste was being mistreated.

The veteran entertainer also claimed that he directly challenged 50 Cent over the alleged treatment of the musician.

Charly Boy further alleged that the confrontation had consequences for the American rapper’s visit to Nigeria.

According to him, 50 Cent abandoned plans to travel to Port Harcourt for a performance and instead returned to the United States following the incident.

The entertainer made the revelations while reflecting on one of the most talked-about controversies involving Nigerian and international music stars in the early 2000s.

The video clip containing Charly Boy’s account can be viewed between the 24:33 and 24:51 marks.
