According to a report by Punch News on Sunday, May 17, 2026, Elizabeth Olagoke, a teacher at Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Yawota, has narrated her frightening experience following an attack on the school by armed terrorists. She stated that the attackers arrived on six motorcycles and communicated in Yoruba, Hausa, and Pidgin English.
Sharing details of the incident, Olagoke explained that the assailants stormed the school around 8 a.m. during morning activities. She said each motorcycle carried two riders.
According to her, the attackers shouted “Come in” in Yoruba before opening fire indiscriminately, throwing the area into panic and confusion. She noted that the gunmen communicated in a mix of Yoruba, Hausa, and Pidgin English throughout the attack.
She further described the attackers as young men who concealed their identities with masks and wore camouflage clothing. Olagoke added that they reportedly entered from the Esinele area and carried out the operation for about seven minutes.
In her account, she said, “They arrived on six motorcycles, with two men on each bike,” and confirmed that “the terrorists spoke Yoruba, Hausa, and Pidgin English.”
