Manchester United will conclude their Premier League campaign at the AMEX Stadium against Brighton on Saturday, though they face uncertainty over the availability of striker Benjamin Sesko heading into the fixture as reported by Evening Standard on Friday May 22, 2026.

The Slovenian forward has been sidelined since sustaining an aggravated shin problem during United’s victory over Liverpool earlier this month, an injury picked up after he made contact with the advertising boards.

He has since missed two consecutive matches, and interim manager Michael Carrick confirmed the striker is still a fitness doubt ahead of the trip south.

With United having little to play for in the standings, Carrick was already expected to ring the changes regardless of Sesko’s availability.

Should the forward fail to recover in time, Bryan Mbeumo appears the most likely option to lead the line centrally, with Patrick Dorgu potentially returning to the starting XI on the wing after his own spell on the sidelines following a hamstring problem sustained back in January.

Bruno Fernandes is set to feature in his customary attacking midfield role as he chases a historic 21st league assist of the season, which would set a new Premier League record.

In the engine room, Manuel Ugarte is expected to partner Kobbie Mainoo following Casemiro’s departure from the club.

Carrick stated he has “plenty of scope to shake things up,” and goalkeeper Altay Bayindir could earn a final appearance ahead of an expected summer exit,

While youngster Ayden Heaven may be handed more top flight experience in central defence. Matthijs de Ligt remains out after back surgery.

Manchester United XI: Bayindir; Shaw, Heaven, Martinez, Mazraoui; Mainoo, Ugarte; Dorgu, Fernandes, Cunha; Mbeumo
