Igboho Speaks On FG Approval to Launch Iru Ekun Security Network, Vows to Crush Terrorists in South-West

Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has revealed that he is still awaiting final approval from the Federal Government to activate his proposed security outfit, Iru Ekun Security Network.

In a statement released on Monday, Igboho disclosed that all necessary documents for the registration of the network have been submitted to the Federal Government, adding that he expects approval soon. The security initiative is aimed at flushing out terrorists, kidnappers, bandits, and other criminals terrorizing forest communities across the South-West region.

The activist expressed readiness to work closely with existing security agencies, including the Nigeria Police, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Army, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). He also pledged full compliance with the new executive order issued by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde regulating private security operations.

Igboho commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for its commitment to tackling insecurity nationwide and stressed the importance of peace for agricultural productivity and economic growth in rural communities.

“We have submitted all the required documents… and are only waiting for the Federal Government approval which will be granted soon,” the statement read. “Without peace and security, healthy socioeconomic developments cannot thrive, most especially in the rural communities which remain the hub of agricultural production.”
