Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the emergence of activist and politician Omoyele Sowore as the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Sowore secured the party’s presidential ticket during the AAC primary election held in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

His emergence as the party’s flag bearer has since generated conversations across social media platforms, with supporters and political observers sharing their views on the outcome of the primary election.

Shortly after winning the ticket, reports indicated that Sowore resigned from his position as the National Chairman of the party.

The development was followed by the appointment of Samuel Ajeigbe as the new National Chairman of the AAC, marking a new leadership change within the party structure.

Reacting to the announcement, Shehu Sani took to his official X account to congratulate the former presidential candidate on his victory. In his message, the former lawmaker described Sowore’s emergence as a hard-earned achievement and wished him strength as he prepares for the next phase of his political journey.

Sani wrote, “Congratulations to Omoyele Sowore on your hard-earned victory as the flag bearer of your party, AAC. The Lord is your strength.”

The post quickly attracted attention online, with many social media users responding to the statement and expressing different opinions about Sowore’s candidacy and the political future of the AAC.

Several reactions also surfaced regarding the relationship between both politicians and the significance of the endorsement ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
