Nigerian activist Justice Crack has shared details of his experience while in the custody of the Department of State Services following his recent detention.

In a statement posted on his official X account on May 26, 2026, shortly after he was granted bail by the court, Justice Crack described how he was treated during his stay at the DSS facility. According to him, officials of the security agency acted professionally and respectfully throughout the period of his detention.

The activist revealed that although he was blindfolded at the time of his arrest, the blindfold was removed upon arrival at the DSS office. He stated that he was neither physically assaulted nor verbally abused during his time in custody.

Justice Crack also disclosed that he was provided with meals and medical attention while detained. According to his account, he was served bread and tea and was also asked about his preferred meals by officials at the facility. He added that adequate medical care was made available to him when necessary.

In his statement, the activist specifically commended the conduct of the DSS officers he interacted with, noting that they maintained professionalism throughout his stay. He emphasized that no officer shouted at him or used force against him during the detention period.

The comments have generated reactions online, with some social media users expressing surprise at his account, while others viewed the statement as an attempt to provide clarity regarding the circumstances surrounding his detention.
