Former presidential candidate and Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) chieftain, Barrister Eunice Atuejide, has questioned the credibility of recent allegations made by former Labour Party spokesman Kenneth Okonkwo against NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Speaking on Arise Prime Time, Atuejide dismissed Okonkwo’s claims that Obi influenced candidate selection processes and was linked to questionable financial dealings within the NDC. She described the allegations as fabricated and inconsistent with Obi’s public record and political conduct.

Highlighting what she sees as a contradiction in Okonkwo’s position, Atuejide said: “Before now Peter Obi was the greatest thing to happen to Nigeria, but now suddenly he says the opposite.”

According to her, the dramatic change in Okonkwo’s assessment of Obi raises questions about the motives behind his recent criticisms. She argued that individuals who frequently change their positions based on personal interests should not be regarded as reliable sources of information.

Atuejide further suggested that Okonkwo’s actions may be driven by personal benefits rather than genuine concerns about governance or party processes. She maintained that Peter Obi has consistently demonstrated integrity and commitment to national development, insisting that he neither influenced candidate selection nor profited from party nomination processes.

The former presidential candidate also challenged Okonkwo to substantiate his claims in court, urging him to present any evidence he possesses against Obi. She stated that a judicial process would provide an opportunity for full public scrutiny and help establish the truth.
