Several reactions have trailed the comment that was made by African Democratic Congress, ADC chieftain, Kenneth Okonkwo after he heard that Atiku Abubakar didn’t pick his running mate from the Southeast.
The reaction of Kenneth Okonkwo was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Monday, June 15, 2026.
This is coming after the former governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi was announced as the running mate of Atiku Abubakar.
In the post that Kenneth Okonkwo made on his official X handle, he stated that he didn’t join the coalition to assist in the further marginalization of his own people. He said he told Atiku Abubakar to pick his running mate from the Southeast.
Here is what Kenneth Okonkwo wrote on his official X handle;
“The only favour I asked Atiku Abubakar, who openly declared that he is the pathway to the presidency of the Southeast, is to show it by choosing someone from the Southeast to be his vice”.
