A prominent Cameroonian cleric, Desmond Gwe, has shared a prophecy regarding the political future of Peter Obi ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election.
Gwe, popularly known as the “Dancing Prophet,” said Obi’s political future remains bright but suggested that the former Anambra governor may need to wait longer before attaining the nation’s highest office.
Speaking in a video message released through his ministry, Determination Ministries International, based in Nkoteng, Cameroon, the cleric stated that Obi’s time for greater political success may come later rather than in the immediate future.
Prophet Advises Obi to Focus on Building Integrity
According to Gwe, Obi should use his current popularity and influence to strengthen his integrity, intelligence, and leadership capacity.
“Tell him it will be good, but not now. Tell him to use the fame to build intelligence and integrity that will later be used to rebuild and reconstruct,” the prophet said.
He added that Obi should remain patient and continue preparing for future opportunities, suggesting that significant political breakthroughs may occur in the 2030s rather than the current decade.
Obi Remains a Major Opposition Figure
Obi, now the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, is widely regarded as one of the leading opposition figures ahead of the 2027 elections.
The former governor finished third in the 2023 presidential election, which was won by Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.
Since then, Obi has maintained a strong support base through the Obidient Movement and continues to be mentioned as a major contender in discussions surrounding the next presidential race.
Mixed Reactions to Political Prophecies
Political prophecies have become a recurring feature of Nigeria’s electoral landscape, often generating debate among supporters and critics alike.
While some Nigerians view such predictions as spiritual guidance, others argue that election outcomes ultimately depend on voter decisions, political strategy, and democratic processes rather than prophetic declarations.
President Tinubu has already indicated his intention to seek a second term in office, setting the stage for what is expected to be a highly competitive 2027 presidential contest.
