Prominent Yoruba self-determination activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has issued a stern warning to kidnappers operating in Oyo State following the reported abduction and killing of a pregnant woman in his hometown.

Speaking at the palace of Oba John Oyetola Bolarinwa Olubiyi II in Igboho, Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State, Igboho expressed anger over the incident and vowed that criminal elements would no longer be tolerated in the area.

Outrage Over Killing of Pregnant Woman

According to Igboho, the victim was abducted alongside another individual who later delivered ransom money to secure her release.

He alleged that both the pregnant woman and the ransom bearer were eventually killed by their captors.

Reacting to the incident, the activist condemned the attack and described it as a direct challenge to peace and security in the community.

He stated that criminal groups should not expect residents to remain silent while innocent people continue to suffer kidnappings and killings.

Warning to Criminal Elements

In a video that has circulated widely on social media, Igboho called on Fulani community leaders to caution anyone involved in kidnapping activities.

He warned that those responsible for such crimes would face consequences if the attacks continue.

His remarks come amid growing concerns over insecurity in parts of Oyo State and other areas of the Southwest, where residents have repeatedly raised alarms about kidnappings and attacks on travellers.
