Nigerian billionaire businessman Femi Otedola has stirred conversations online after sharing a photo of himself with Lebanese-Nigerian business magnate Gilbert Chagoury in Monaco.
Otedola posted the image on his social media pages, describing his meeting with Chagoury as a pleasant experience while commending the businessman for his role in the development of Eko Atlantic City in Lagos.
In his post, Otedola wrote:
“A pleasure to spend this morning in Monaco with Ambassador Gilbert Chagoury. The creator of the 8th Wonder of the World, Eko Atlantic… F.Ote.”

Eko Atlantic City, one of Nigeria’s most ambitious real estate developments, has often been described as a futuristic city built on reclaimed land along the Atlantic coastline in Lagos.
Chagoury, founder of the Chagoury Group, oversees business interests spanning construction, real estate, hospitality, and infrastructure development. His companies include Hitech Construction and ITB Nigeria, among others.
The businessman is widely known for his longstanding relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Earlier this year, Tinubu conferred on Chagoury the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), Nigeria’s second-highest national honour, citing his contributions to national development.
The photograph quickly generated reactions across social media, with many users discussing Chagoury’s influence in business and infrastructure development in Nigeria. While some praised his role in projects such as Eko Atlantic, others expressed differing opinions about his relationship with the Nigerian political and business establishment.
The Monaco meeting comes days after another viral clip showed Otedola taking a walk on the streets of Monaco, sparking online discussions after he was seen in the company of a woman whose identity was not publicly disclosed.
Neither Otedola nor Chagoury has commented further on the purpose of their meeting.
