Breaking: Families of Abducted Accord Members Storm Streets in llesa, Osun State

Families, supporters, and concerned residents on Friday took to the streets of Ilesa in Osun State to protest the abduction of members of the Accord Party, demanding their immediate and unconditional release.

The protesters, many carrying placards and chanting solidarity songs, called on security agencies and the Osun State Government to intensify efforts to rescue the victims. They expressed frustration over the continued captivity of their loved ones, insisting that those abducted were innocent citizens who should not be left at the mercy of their captors.

The demonstration reportedly caused temporary traffic disruptions in parts of Ilesa as protesters marched through major roads, urging authorities to act swiftly. They also appealed to the Federal Government to deploy every available security resource to ensure the safe return of the kidnapped party members.  

As of the time of filing this report, security authorities had not released an official statement on the protest or provided an update on efforts to secure the victims’ freedom. The incident has heightened concerns over insecurity in the region, with residents calling for stronger measures to curb kidnapping and protect lives and property.
