According to a report by The Independent on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the non-payment of the N50 million reward promised to Carter Efe, a comedian and content producer from Nigeria, has caused him concern. Efe won a celebrity boxing battle against Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, a controversial singer.

Following a highly competitive fight between the two performers, Carter Efe was declared the winner of last Friday’s highly publicised duel. “Chaos in the Ring” was the name given to the event, and it caused quite a stir online as people discussed the bout and its result.

A new dispute has arisen over the event’s organization because Carter Efe alleged, days after the high-profile showdown, that he has not yet received the $10,000 reward that was publicly publicised for the winner.

Since Portable already cast doubt on the veracity of the outcome, this circumstance just adds fuel to the fire of the ongoing argument surrounding the fight’s aftermath. The artist further stoked the fires of controversy among fans by suggesting that the judges’ ruling in Carter Efe’s favour may have been swayed.

E-Money, a businessman from Nigeria, officially guaranteed to pay out the N50 million prize to the victor at the end of the contest. He reassured the crowd that the promise would be kept when he spoke at the occasion.

No guarantee ever falls through with E-Money. The N50 million contribution is ready to be redeemed. Best of luck to Carter Efe. His previous statement was that the evening’s entertainment had been fantastic.

Regardless of that guarantee, the reason for the payment delay remains unknown. At the time of writing, neither E-Money nor the event organisers had released a statement explaining what had happened.

Carter Efe vented his anger at the situation and accused the guilty of ignoring their financial responsibility in a video he posted to his social media accounts. He demanded immediate payment of the promised incentive and characterised the boxing battle as physically taxing.

“I have not received my money. I have not seen the N50 million. I nearly died in that fight’, yet I have not been paid. They should pay me my N50 million,” he said.
