Emmanuel Obasi, the former husband of actress Judy Austin, has spoken about the financial support he claims to have provided for her education before and during their marriage.
Speaking during an interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast, Obasi explained that he invested heavily in Judy’s academic progress long before their relationship became widely known to the public.
According to him, he personally sponsored some of the major examinations she needed to further her education.
Recalling the period, Obasi said: “I paid for Judy Austin’s WAEC, NECO and JAMB before we got married.”
He explained that he wanted to support her future and ensure she had the opportunity to continue her studies without financial difficulties.
According to the former husband, his support went beyond emotional encouragement, as he consistently assisted her financially in different aspects of her life.
Obasi also claimed that he extended similar assistance to some of her relatives in order to maintain peace and harmony within the extended family.
He stated that he helped one of her cousins financially because he wanted to avoid conflicts and ensure everyone around them was comfortable.
The former husband presented these claims while reflecting on the sacrifices he believes he made during the relationship.
According to him, his intention at the time was to build a stable family and contribute positively to Judy Austin’s growth and success.
Obasi made the remarks as part of a broader interview in which he discussed the rise and eventual breakdown of their marriage, as well as the personal struggles he says followed afterward.
