Your lungs are one of the most important organs in your body. They provide oxygen to your blood and remove harmful carbon dioxide. When your lungs are not healthy, your whole body suffers. Certain signs show your lungs might be in poor condition.

One common sign is shortness of breath. If you feel out of breath even when doing simple tasks like walking or climbing stairs, your lungs may not be working well. This can indicate reduced lung capacity or damage.

Persistent coughing is another warning. A cough that lasts for weeks or produces unusual mucus can be a sign of infection, inflammation, or more serious lung problems. Chronic coughing should never be ignored.

Wheezing or noisy breathing is also a signal. A whistling sound when you breathe may show that your airways are narrowed or blocked. This can happen in conditions like asthma, bronchitis, or lung infections.

If you notice chest pain or tightness, it may indicate stress on your lungs or even fluid build-up. This symptom, especially when combined with shortness of breath, requires medical attention immediately.

Another sign is frequent respiratory infections. If you catch colds or pneumonia more often than usual, it could mean your lungs and immune system are weak.

Fatigue and low energy can also be linked to lung problems. When lungs are not functioning properly, your body receives less oxygen, making you feel tired easily.

Finally, changes in skin or lip colour, lips or fingernails are serious signs of levels in your blood.

If you experience any of these signs, it is important to consult a doctor. Early detection can prevent serious lung diseases. Taking care of your lungs by avoiding smoking, pollution, and staying active is essential for good health.
