A Nigerian cleric, Prophet Chukwuneke Samson Nnaji of the Finger of God Ministry, has predicted that former presidential candidate Peter Obi will emerge victorious in Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election.

The prophecy, shared on the prophet’s official Facebook page on Friday, June 19, has generated discussion among supporters and political observers as preparations gradually begin ahead of the next general election cycle.

According to the cleric, the revelation showed Obi defeating both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in a closely contested race.

Prophet Details Vision

In the statement posted on social media, Prophet Nnaji claimed he saw a historic electoral outcome that would be remembered for generations.

He wrote:

“The Lord told me that what is about to happen will be written in the history of Nigeria because something like that has never happened before.”

The cleric further stated that he saw a fierce political contest involving Obi, Tinubu and Atiku before the eventual declaration of a winner.

“The Lord opened my eyes. I saw this upcoming election between Peter Obi and President Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar fighting over the 2027 election.”

Predicts Obi’s Victory

According to Prophet Nnaji, Obi would secure a narrow victory after a dramatic counting process.

He claimed:

“The Lord opened my eyes. I saw 10 million to 9 million votes, and I saw Peter Obi declared the winner of the 2027 general elections.”

However, the cleric said the declaration would be preceded by what he described as an unusual and mysterious development.

“Something mysterious happened on that day they are going to announce the results.”

Massive Crowd at INEC Office

Providing more details about the alleged vision, Prophet Nnaji said he saw millions of people gathered around the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) awaiting the final announcement.

He stated:

“I saw more than five million people in the INEC office and around the office waiting for the final results, and fear held all the men there. That’s how Peter Obi was declared winner of the general election.”

The prophet did not provide further details regarding the nature of the event he described as “mysterious.”

Calls for Prayer and Vigilance

The cleric urged Obi’s supporters and Nigerians generally to remain prayerful as the country approaches another election season.

According to him:

“Hear me: Nigeria will be OK. Remember you saw it here first.”

He added:

“Everything I’m telling you is what will happen. Screenshot and keep the record. Everything will happen. Remember, prayer is needed if you truly love Peter Obi. Fast and pray.”

Political Reactions Expected

Although neither Obi nor officials of any political party have reacted to the prophecy, predictions from religious leaders often attract public attention in Nigeria, especially during election periods.

Political analysts, however, note that election outcomes are ultimately determined by voter decisions, party structures, campaign strategies, electoral processes and legal frameworks rather than prophetic declarations.

Similar Prediction Emerges

This is not the first time a cleric has predicted victory for Obi ahead of the 2027 election.

Earlier, Ghanaian preacher Prophet Clement Testimony also claimed that Obi stands a strong chance of becoming Nigeria’s next president, a statement that generated mixed reactions across social media platforms.
