Residents of a community in Oyo State are living in fear after bandits attacked a school and kidnapped several teachers and students during a test.
In a video shared by With-Chude Podcast Sarah Ayano, the grandmother of one of the victims, said one of the twins who escaped explained how the attack happened. According to her, the students were writing a test when the armed men entered the school and ordered a teacher to stand up. The attackers threatened to shoot the teacher before forcing the person to follow them.
Ayano said that one of the twins managed to escape through a window during the confusion, while the other twin, the teacher, and a few students were caught as they tried to flee. She added that about three students could not escape from the attackers.
The grandmother appealed to the government and security agencies to rescue those abducted as quickly as possible. She said families in the community are deeply worried and ready for any effort that could bring the victims back safely, including the payment of ransom if necessary.
She also revealed that fear has spread across the community since the incident, with some residents already leaving their homes for safety.
In his words, “They said they were writing a test when the bandits arrived, and they threatened to shoot their teacher, then the teacher stood up and followed them. The other twin escaped through the window. But the teacher and a few students got caught as they tried to flee.”
