Nollywood actress Nkiru Umeh, popularly known as Angellikky, has broken her silence after being accused by actress Peggy Ovire of having an affair with Peggy’s estranged husband, actor Frederick Leonard.
The controversy began when Peggy Ovire publicly accused Frederick Leonard of being involved with a married woman who reportedly has children. Peggy shared a video showing Leonard alongside Nkiru Umeh at comedian Funnybone’s recent comedy show in Lagos, describing them as “shameless lots.”
Following the allegations, Nkiru took to her Instagram page and shared a video of herself with a message suggesting she was unbothered by public criticism.
“Uwa enwe nmeta (You can’t please the world). It is well,” she wrote.
Earlier, social media users identified Nkiru Umeh as the woman seen with Frederick Leonard amid growing rumours of a crisis in his marriage to Peggy Ovire.
Peggy had also shared a series of posts on her Instagram Stories, alleging that Frederick was involved in an extramarital affair with a married woman. She later reposted a cryptic message she originally shared in February 2026, questioning whether any woman could remain in a marriage where her husband maintained a relationship with a married woman who was initially introduced as a “friend.”
As the controversy intensified, many Nigerians flooded Nkiru’s Instagram page, prompting her to disable the comment section.
Social media users also resurfaced an old 2018 post in which Nkiru openly praised Frederick Leonard. In the post, she described him as an “actor extraordinaire” and admired his charisma and sense of style while comparing him with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
Part of the post read:
“Errrr……Am I permitted to crush? I promise not to crash. Na who born these ones bikonu. Men them looking all shades of dapper… Should we start with the actor extraordinaire @freddieleonard looking like a man and half or we should start with the classic man @ebuka…”
The resurfaced post further fueled online discussions surrounding the allegations.
