According to a report by Vanguard on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, a woman accused of trafficking a teenager to Lagos has denied the allegations, insisting that she neither recruited nor controlled anyone.

The suspect, identified as Princess Andrew, reacted after a teenage girl alleged that she was lured from Imo State to Lagos under false pretences and subjected to abuse. The teenager’s account prompted an investigation by the Lagos State Police Command, which has led to arrests and the rescue of several underage girls.

Denying the claims, Andrew maintained that she only knew the teenager and had merely helped her settle after arriving in Lagos.

“I am not anybody’s madam. I work on my own as a sxx-worker since February. Nobody works for me. I merely assisted the young woman by connecting her with accommodation after she arrived from Delta State.”

She also disputed the teenager’s stated age and rejected allegations that she had trafficked or exploited her.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, CP Olohundare Jimoh Tijani, said the case came to light after a severely injured victim was rescued by a good Samaritan and taken to the Bode Thomas Police Station.

According to the police commissioner, investigations revealed the existence of a trafficking network that allegedly targeted vulnerable minors. He disclosed that two suspects had been arrested while 13 underage girls were rescued during ongoing operations.

The police said investigations are continuing as efforts intensify to dismantle the suspected trafficking syndicate and bring all those involved to justice.
