Residents of Oyo State have taken to the streets again in protest, demanding the immediate rescue of the abducted principal, teachers, and students of Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle, who have now spent 25 days in captivity.

The protesters, who marched through major streets, expressed frustration over what they described as the government’s slow response to the crisis. Many carried placards with inscriptions such as “Bring Back Our Children” and “25 Days Too Long,” while chanting solidarity songs.

The abduction, which occurred about 25 days ago, has continued to generate public outrage, with many residents accusing the state and federal governments of not doing enough to secure the release of the victims.

One of the protesters told journalists: “We are tired. Our children have been in the bush for 25 days. The government is not talking. We want action, not promises.”

This latest protest comes shortly after the abducted principal, Mrs. Rachael Alamu, released a video pleading with the government to negotiate with the abductors, clarifying that they were only demanding the release of their members in custody and not the earlier reported N1 billion ransom or Sharia law.

Security experts have warned that prolonged captivity increases the risk to the victims, while civil society groups have called on the Oyo State Government and security agencies to intensify efforts toward a safe rescue or negotiated release.

As of the time of this report, there has been no official statement from the Oyo State Government or the police command regarding the ongoing protest or the latest demands from the abductors.

The incident has continued to fuel public anger and renewed calls for better security across the Southwest region.

This is a developing story.
