Fresh concerns have emerged over the controversial killing of Oghenemine Ogidi in Delta State, as a family member, Debbie Oghenemine, publicly questioned the official narrative surrounding the incident.

Speaking in a video interview shared by Arise TV, Debbie raised several unanswered questions about the events that led to Ogidi’s death, particularly the alleged parcel said to have triggered the fatal encounter.

Ogidi was reportedly apprehended at Effurun Main Park along Sapele Road while attempting to collect a waybill parcel believed to contain a Beretta pistol and four rounds of live ammunition. According to initial reports, the situation escalated, leading to his fatal shooting by a police officer identified as ASP Nuhu Usman.

However, Debbie has challenged key aspects of that account, insisting that critical evidence referenced in the case has not been seen by the family or publicly presented.

“Everybody is talking about the parcel and nobody has seen the parcel,” she said.

Her statement underscores growing skepticism about the existence of the alleged item that reportedly prompted the police response. Debbie maintained that neither she nor other family members have been shown the parcel in question since the incident occurred.

“We did not see the pistol,” she added, further casting doubt on claims that Ogidi was in possession of a firearm at the time.

Debbie also raised concerns about another missing link in the narrative—the identity and whereabouts of the individual who allegedly delivered the parcel to the park.

“What about the driver who brought that vehicle to Sapele Park? Where is the driver?” she asked.

According to her, the absence of key witnesses and physical evidence has made it difficult for the family to understand exactly what transpired and why deadly force was used.

The incident, which took place in a busy public motor park, has since drawn widespread attention, with calls for transparency and accountability from concerned citizens and advocacy groups.

Debbie stressed that the family is seeking clarity, not just justice, urging authorities to provide concrete answers regarding the circumstances that led to Ogidi’s death.

“We are only asking for the truth. If there was a parcel, let it be shown. If there was a gun, let the public see it,” she said.

She also questioned whether due process was followed before the use of lethal force, suggesting that more restraint could have been exercised under the circumstances.
