Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has reignited controversy surrounding his proposed celebrity boxing match with Carter Efe, making fresh allegations against music executive Soso Soberekon.

In a viral video circulating on social media, Portable claimed that Soberekon failed to fulfill promises of additional cash and a luxury car after he refused to participate in what he described as a staged publicity stunt.

According to the singer, he was allegedly instructed to damage a luxury vehicle during a face-off event to create viral content ahead of the fight.

“Soso Soberekon has refused to give me the money and car they promised me because I refused to damage his Rolls-Royce,” Portable said.

He further revealed that businessman Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money, had separately promised him a car, urging Soberekon to connect him for proper compensation.

How the Boxing Drama Started

The highly publicized boxing match was first introduced in February 2026 during a livestream hosted by Soberekon, where Carter Efe was reportedly offered ₦50 million to step into the ring.

Portable, however, rejected the initial offer, describing it as insufficient. He demanded a total package worth ₦350 million, including ₦50 million cash and a luxury car valued at ₦300 million.

Despite the disagreement, organizers reportedly paid Portable ₦40 million upfront, while Soberekon and E-Money each pledged an additional ₦50 million. E-Money also promised a car if Portable emerged victorious.

The Turning Point

The situation took a dramatic twist during a recent promotional face-off. Portable alleged that Soberekon encouraged him to smash the windscreen of a white Rolls-Royce to generate buzz, while Carter Efe was asked to break a television set.

Refusing the request, Portable said he could not damage such a luxury item, citing his personal values and future ambitions.

“I’m an artist. I pray to have a Rolls-Royce one day. I won’t destroy what I hope to own,” he stated.

Fallout and Reactions

Following his refusal, Portable claims that Soberekon withdrew the additional financial rewards and car offer, effectively “punishing” him for not going along with the plan.

The allegations have since sparked mixed reactions online, with fans debating whether the incident reflects industry exploitation, publicity tactics, or a misunderstanding between the parties involved.

As of now, neither Soberekon nor Carter Efe has issued an official response to Portable’s claims.
