A serious debate has erupted among Christians after a pastor publicly declared that prayer alone will not automatically make someone successful or wealthy.

According to him, many believers have spent years waiting for miracles while ignoring hard work, discipline, planning, and education.

His statement quickly went viral after he quoted Proverbs 14:23:
“All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.”

The pastor also referenced 2 Thessalonians 3:10, where the Bible says:
“The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.”

These verses have triggered heated reactions online, especially among Christians who believe faith and prayer are enough to change any situation.

Some believers strongly agreed with the pastor, arguing that many people hide laziness under spirituality. They said God blesses effort, consistency, and wisdom — not just endless fasting and prayers.
