The Boss Who Gave You People Order To Video Us Will Go And Do Your Burial- Isokpehi Allegedly Says
According to a report by Punch News, a man identified as Newton Isokpehi, who claims to be a serving officer with 26 years of experience, has issued a controversial warning regarding the recording of police officers while on duty.
He allegedly stated that anyone who records him or his colleagues during official duty may face severe consequences, adding that the person who allegedly gives orders to film police officers would be responsible for the outcome of any such confrontation.
Isokpehi, as quoted in the report, claimed that while people are allowed to record officers carrying out their duties, those behind such directives would bear responsibility for any deaths that may occur in the process.
He also expressed frustration over the conditions faced by police officers in Nigeria, saying they endure difficult working conditions and hardship in the line of duty.
In his words, he was quoted as saying: “That oga (boss) who gave you people the order to video us will go and do your burial.”
The statement has sparked concerns due to its tone and implications, especially at a time when discussions around police accountability and citizen rights remain sensitive in Nigeria.
