A family has been left devastated after a pregnant woman and her unborn baby died suddenly in their home just days before Mother’s Day celebrations.
The heartbreaking incident occurred only a week after the family held a joyful baby shower in anticipation of welcoming their newest member.
According to her husband, Avi Carey, his wife Tiffany had been eagerly preparing for the arrival of their baby boy when tragedy struck unexpectedly.
Speaking emotionally about the ordeal, Carey said his wife began complaining of a severe headache on the day she died.”She kept saying her head hurt badly. She would sit and talk to me for a while, then fall asleep for about 30 minutes before waking up again,” he recalled.
He explained that Tiffany appeared unusually exhausted throughout the day, something he initially dismissed as normal pregnancy fatigue.
As evening approached, she lay down on the couch to rest. However, when Carey later tried to wake her, she did not respond.“I called her name and gently shook her arm, but there was no answer. When I looked closely, I noticed her lips had turned blue. That is when panic hit me,” he said tearfully.
The expectant mother died alongside her unborn child, leaving behind a grieving husband and relatives who had been preparing for a new chapter in life.
The sudden deaths shocked friends and family members who had recently gathered to celebrate Tiffany’s baby shower.
Carey revealed that the family is now struggling emotionally as items purchased for the newborn remain untouched in their home.”We had prepared everything for the baby. The diapers, the cradle, the clothes — everything is still there,” he said.
The grieving husband described Tiffany as a loving partner who valued family deeply and brought warmth to everyone around her.”She was my best friend, my support system, and the light in our home,” he added.
