“He Didn’t Tell Me the Time or Details” – Adeboye Shares What God Told Him About Abducted Children
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has disclosed that God assured him of the dramatic release of abducted schoolchildren during a period of intense prayer, although He did not reveal when or how the rescue would happen.
Speaking in a recent message shared on YouTube, Adeboye recalled the emotional burden he carried after the kidnapping of the children and the killing of one of their teachers by the abductors. According to the cleric, the tragedy sparked criticism from people who questioned the effectiveness of prayers and fasting.
“When the pain became almost unbearable, and some people were accusing me of being quiet at the time when I should be talking, I was compelled to cry unto God,” Adeboye said.
He explained that Christians had been praying and fasting for the safe return of the schoolchildren, but the situation became more heartbreaking after the kidnappers reportedly murdered a teacher and circulated a video of the act.
“We have been fasting, we have been praying for a particular group of schoolchildren that were captured. The kidnappers felt that the government was not reacting fast enough to give them the money they asked for. They slaughtered their teacher and showed the video to the rest of the world,” he stated.
Adeboye said the incident prompted many to ask, “Where is your God?” leading him to seek divine intervention in what he described as deep agony.
“I went to the Lord in prayer. In deep agony. I said, ‘Father, you heard them. They say, “Where is our God?” Answer them now,'” he recounted.
According to the RCCG leader, God responded by assuring him that the children’s release would be extraordinary.
“God spoke to me and told me that as for the release of the children, it is going to be dramatic,” he said.
However, Adeboye noted that the timing and process of the rescue remained undisclosed.
“But He didn’t tell me the time or the details. He told me that aspect should be left in His hand,” he added, urging believers to continue trusting God’s timing even when answers are not immediately visible.
