An Abuja-based pastor has recounted the frightening experience he and his wife endured after armed kidnappers allegedly invaded their home and abducted them in the late hours of the night.
Speaking in an interview on TVC News, the clergyman said the attack occurred on February 4, 2026, shortly after 10 p.m., while he and his wife were asleep in their residence.
According to him, the ordeal began when they heard unusual noises outside their home and quickly realized that intruders had gained access to the compound.
He said: “My wife and I were asleep when kidnappers broke into our house and abducted us.”
The pastor explained that as the situation unfolded, they discovered that the attackers had already overpowered their security guard.
According to him, the guard was being assaulted with a sharp object while the kidnappers continued their operation within the compound.
The couple reportedly attempted to escape through the back door of the house. However, they soon realized that the attackers had strategically blocked their possible routes of escape.
The clergyman said the kidnappers damaged parts of the building and eventually cut through the burglary-proof bars protecting the house.
After gaining entry, the attackers allegedly forced the couple through a window before taking them away from the property.
According to the pastor, they were then marched deep into the bush by four armed men carrying an AK-47 rifle.
He said the journey lasted for about five hours through rough and rocky terrain before they arrived at a cave.
The pastor added that he and his wife were forced to crawl on their stomachs to enter the cave, where they discovered that other kidnapping victims had previously been held.
The incident highlights the growing concerns about insecurity and kidnapping attacks affecting many communities across the country.
