Retired Major General Rabe Abubakar was one of Nigeria’s most prominent military officers, best known for serving as Director of Defence Information and spokesperson for the Armed Forces of Nigeria during some of the country’s most challenging security periods.
His distinguished military career spanned decades and included key leadership positions in public relations, strategic communications and counter-insurgency operations. However, his life ended tragically after he was abducted by bandits and later died while in captivity.
