A notorious bandit leader in Katsina State has openly admitted that his men killed 15 people, while also issuing a chilling warning that he would not disclose when his group would strike again.

The startling revelation came during an interview featured in an upcoming documentary titled “Bandits of Katsina”, scheduled to air on News Central TV at 7 PM WAT today.

In the clip, the bandit leader, whose identity was not revealed in the teaser, calmly stated:

“I am fully aware that my boys killed 15 persons… I won’t reveal the number of days it will take for me to attack them this time.”

The statement has sparked outrage and renewed concern over the growing boldness of bandit groups in the North-West, many of whom now operate with little fear of consequences.

The Documentary

The documentary, which promises to give rare insight into the world of banditry in Katsina, reportedly features direct conversations with some of the key actors in the region’s security crisis. It explores the complex dynamics of banditry, including recruitment, operations, and their so-called “reconciliation” efforts with the government.

While the full interview is yet to be aired, the teaser has already generated significant reactions online, with many Nigerians questioning the wisdom of giving such criminals a platform while they continue to threaten lives.

A Growing Pattern

This is not the first time bandit leaders in the North-West have spoken openly in the media. In recent years, several notorious figures have granted interviews, made demands, or issued threats, often while still actively involved in kidnapping, cattle rustling, and killings.

Security analysts say this growing media visibility reflects the confidence these criminal groups now have, as they operate with relative freedom in large parts of Katsina, Zamfara, and Kaduna States.

As the full documentary airs tonight, many Nigerians are watching closely to see whether it will offer genuine insight into the banditry crisis or simply give more oxygen to those responsible for the deaths and suffering of thousands.
