A prominent Christian leader, Pastor Kingsley Okwuwe of the Revival and Restoration Global Mission, has predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will retain power in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking in a video published on his YouTube channel, Okwuwe claimed that the opposition had weakened its chances ahead of the next general election.

According to the cleric, Peter Obi’s decision to leave the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and contest on the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) was a major political error.

Pastor Okwuwe’s Prophecy

In the video, Pastor Okwuwe predicted that Peter Obi and his running mate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, would not emerge victorious in the 2027 election.

He said:

“This APC government that you see in presidency, in 2027, they are going to regain power. I repeat it: they are going to regain power.”

The cleric further warned of what he described as a “calamity” facing the NDC, insisting that the opposition’s current political calculations would not produce the expected results.

Source of the Prophecy

The prophecy was reportedly made in a video shared on Pastor Kingsley Okwuwe’s official YouTube channel, where he discussed the political outlook ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Peter Obi: “I Am Not Desperate to Be President”

Meanwhile, Peter Obi has maintained that his political ambition is not driven by personal ambition but by his desire to see Nigeria work.

Speaking during an interview on Nevon HQ’s Black Box programme hosted by Rufai Oseni, Obi said:

“I am not desperate to be president of Nigeria. I am desperate to see Nigeria work.”

He added:

“I am desperate to see young people have a means of livelihood. I am desperate to see people stop stealing public money. I am desperate to see Nigeria work.”

The former Anambra State governor explained that fixing Nigeria’s challenges remains his primary motivation for remaining active in politics.

Reactions From Nigerians

The prophecy has generated mixed reactions online.

Abdullahi Musa wrote:

“Prophecies don’t determine elections. Nigerians will decide who wins in 2027.”

Chinonso Okeke said:

“Every election season comes with different prophecies. The real issue should be who has the best plan for Nigeria.”

Aisha Bello commented:

“If Tinubu performs well before 2027, people will vote for him. If not, voters will look elsewhere.”

Oluwaseun Adeyemi wrote:

“Peter Obi leaving ADC may or may not be a mistake. Only the election result can answer that.”

Mohammed Ibrahim said:

“Political prophecies are interesting, but Nigerians are more concerned about insecurity, jobs, and the economy.”

Debate Ahead of 2027

The prediction adds to growing discussions about the 2027 presidential election, which is already attracting attention despite being more than a year away.

While supporters of President Tinubu remain confident about his re-election prospects, opposition figures such as Peter Obi and other political leaders continue to position themselves as alternatives ahead of what is expected to be a highly contested race.
