Aggrieved members and aspirants of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Gombe State have kicked off strong protests over alleged exclusion and manipulation during the party’s recent primary elections.
According to a report by African Independent Television (AIT), discontented party faithful accused the leadership of sidelining genuine members who purchased nomination forms and followed due process. They claimed that the process was heavily manipulated in favour of certain preferred candidates, leading to widespread dissatisfaction within the state chapter.
The protests highlight deepening internal divisions in the ADC as the party grapples with leadership crises and preparations for the 2027 general elections. Many of the aggrieved members are demanding transparency, fairness, and the reversal of what they described as unjust outcomes from the primaries.
