A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Tuesday reportedly ordered the immediate arrest of activist and politician Omoyele Sowore following his failure to appear before the court in connection with an ongoing legal matter.
According to Daily Post, the order was issued after the presiding judge expressed dissatisfaction with Sowore’s absence during a scheduled hearing. The court subsequently directed relevant security agencies to ensure his appearance at the next sitting.
The case, which has attracted significant public attention, stems from allegations that authorities claim require further judicial examination. Legal representatives present in court argued over whether proper notice had been served and whether the activist had valid reasons for not attending the proceedings.
