Reason Why I Criticized Peter Obi Over The Conduct Of Local Govenment Elections In Anambra- Umeh

One of the lawmakers representing Anambra state at the National Assembly, Senator Victor Umeh has explained the reason why he criticized Peter Obi when he was the governor of Anambra state.

This was contained in a video that was posted on the official X handle of Trust TV on Friday, May 22, 2026.

In the video that surfaced online, Victor Umeh said when Obi was the governor of Anambra state, he delayed Local Govenment Elections and he disagreed with him.

Victor Umeh said he criticized the former governor of Anambra state because he was the National Chairman of APGA during the time. He said he was eager to protect the interest of members of the party.

Here is what Victor Umeh said;

“I was National Chairman of the party and I was eager to protect the interest of party members. I disagreed with him over the delay in conducting Local Government Elections in the state. When we got him elected as governor of Anambra state, APGA had nobody in government”.
