According to a report by Daily Post on Monday, June 29, 2026, Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has provided an update on the condition of some members of his private security outfit, Iru Ekun, who sustained injuries during an operation in Oyo State.

His remarks came days after reports emerged that some operatives of the security outfit were attacked while participating in efforts to locate the abducted students and teachers of Oriire Academy.

The incident reportedly occurred in the Old Oyo National Park, where armed bandits allegedly ambushed the operatives during the search mission.

The development sparked widespread concern over the safety of the security personnel and generated speculation about the outcome of the operation.

According to earlier reports, several members of the Iru Ekun security outfit were injured after coming under attack by suspected bandits while combing the Old Oyo National Park in search of the kidnapped victims.

The operatives had joined efforts to locate and rescue the abducted students and teachers following reports of their disappearance.

The ambush, which reportedly took place three days before Igboho addressed the issue publicly, raised fears about the security situation in the area and the dangers faced by those involved in the rescue operation.

Following the incident, rumours circulated on social media claiming that Sunday Igboho had also been injured during the confrontation with the gunmen.

The reports further alleged that he had been overpowered by the attackers, leading to uncertainty over his condition.

The claims quickly spread across various platforms, prompting widespread discussion and speculation among members of the public regarding the authenticity of the reports and the status of the Yoruba nation agitator.

Responding to the rumours, Igboho appeared in a video recorded on June 28, 2026, where he dismissed the reports that he had been injured.

Speaking two days after the speculation surfaced, he stated that he was in good health and remained committed to the campaign against kidnappers operating in Oyo State.

He maintained that the false reports would not deter him from continuing efforts aimed at confronting criminal elements and ensuring that those responsible for kidnappings no longer operate freely within the state.

Igboho also used the opportunity to provide an update on the condition of the injured members of the Iru Ekun security outfit.

According to him, the operatives who sustained injuries during the ambush are recovering well and are currently in stable condition.

He assured supporters and members of the public that the injured personnel were receiving the necessary care and were responding positively.

He reiterated that the security outfit remained resolute despite the attack and insisted that the mission to confront kidnappers in the region would continue.

He said, “There’s nothing wrong with me. The injured members are doing fine too. There’s no going back until the Fulani kidnappers vacate our land before we can relent. I’m assuring you that. That you.”
