I know They’ve Been Talking That I said Akara; it’s not only Akara; we also have tomato, Boli-Tinubu

A video that was posted on the official X account of NTA on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 has captured the moment Remi Tinubu, the wife of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was replying those who condemned her comment concerning Akara business.

This came after she gave N50,000 to some petty traders in Jigawa state.

While speaking at the palace of a king in Jigawa state, Remi Tinubu stated that she will also consider those selling tomatoes, Boli and vegetables.

She said she is not bothered about criticisms from people. Remi Tinubu said the reason for the N50,000 grant is to help small scale entrepreneurs to sustain their business.

According to Remi Tinubu on her official X account;

“I know they have been talking that I said Akara. It is not only Akara, we also have tomatoe sellers and Boli. And those selling pepper and vegetables for us in the market. We will continue to support them and add to their resources so that their trade can be really sustainable. That is what we are doing”.
